The journey towards zero emission power and energy carriers from coal
The ideal energy or power plant of the future will have zero emissions. But how do we approach that goal while supplying ever-increasing community and industry demands for energy at a reasonable price?
The Centre for Low Emission Technology will facilitate the research, development and demonstration of innovative and cost-effective enabling technologies for clean coal use that, when combined with CO2 capture and storage, will dramatically reduce emissions.
Our work will help provide the breathing space Australia needs with using coal, while we continue to develop commercially feasible renewable energy technologies and a sustainable energy economy based electricity and hydrogen as zero carbon emission energy carriers.
